The International Dance Festival Corpi Multipli in Lugo under the Artistic Direction of Monica Casadei, was first organised in 2002 and since then it has been supported by the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture. It takes place in Teatro Rossini of Lugo di Romagna and in Teatro Comunale of Russi in the province of Ravenna thanks to the collaboration between Associazione Artemis Danza and Fondazione Teatro Rossini and with the support of the Emilia-Romagna region.

The Festival's main objectives are that of proposing a showcase of Italian and European significant experiences and creating an occasion to meet and exchange ideas not only with choreographers and companies of contemporary dance, but also with unusual disciplines, such as street and circus arts.

From 2002 to 2005 the initiative saw the involvement of renowned companies and emerging Italian and foreign artists (coming from France, Switzerland, Spain and Latin America) in a combination of varied artistic styles and expressions, such as contemporary dance, hip hop, circus, live music, visual arts, etc. Performances were supplemented by meetings, staging and performances organised both in traditional places and in alternative contexts, such as streets, squares and city venues.
